Washington Post: Hospital, physician lobbyists fought Medicare buy-in plan (Amy Goldstein)

Hospitals and doctors dislike medicare because its reimbursements are not enough. Apparently there was a big response from provider lobbyist groups to the early medicare buy-in proposal in the Senate bill. I suppose from a cost perspective most doctors would be against socialized medicine because essentially the government would determine how much doctors get paid, which probably be less than what they get paid now from private insurance companies.

How would I feel if being a doctor became a government job?
